Level 3 – First Holy Communion & Reconciliation
Age group – 8 to 10 years
Teachers – Clarrisa James and Erum Gonsalves
A preparation program for First Holy Communion (also known as First Eucharist) and First Reconciliation preparation. The Eucharist is “the source and summit” of the Christian life, a taste and glimpse of heaven, and strength for our journey as disciples. It deepens the life and presence of Jesus Christ in us, given to us at baptism, by allowing us to consume and become one with “the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity,” of Jesus Christ Himself.
Preparation of children for the Sacrament of Reconciliation allows them to see and experience God as love and God is always ready to forgive, no matter what the wrong. Children learn that we all live in the community of God’s people and that we have a responsibility to know, love and serve God and one another through care, respect, prayer and service.
Regular Mass participation, learning their prayers and completion of material provided completes the learning process. A complete curriculum that is carefully designed to provide the necessary understanding to children is followed.

Teachers – Kevin Nazareth
Level 5 – Pre-Confirmation II

The second stage of Pre-Confirmation is to mentally prepare the children for independently choosing and accepting the Christian faith. We help them to understand the Sacrament of Confirmation in a more detailed and mature manner, they are thought and encouraged to read the Bible along with learning the books of the Bible, the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, the deadly sins, importance of Miracles and Parables. At this stage children are at an age where they know their responsibility as a Christian and are already serving in a ministry of their choice. At the end of this term, they are prepared to enter the Confirmation class. In addition, children are prepared with a deeper understanding of miracles and any two books of the bible.
Level 6 – Confirmation
Age group – 13 to 14 years
Teachers – Sharon Gomes and Ursula Almeida
Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments instituted by Christ of sanctifying grace and the strengthening of the union between the individual and God wherein there is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit as it was granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost.
Confirmation brings an increased and deepening of baptismal grace, it roots us more deeply in the divine filiation, unites us more firmly to Christ, increases the gifts of the Holy Spirit and renders a perfect bond with the Church. It also gives us special strength through the Holy Spirit to spread and defend our faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ to confess Christ’s name boldly and to never be ashamed of the Cross.
Our teachers at St. Anthony’s will strive to help your child in their spiritual journey to make them a strong pillar of our parish. Our curriculum will include reflection, prayer, Scripture, and activities
to invite our young candidates to become more actively involved in their preparation for the Rite of Confirmation
